Momiji I

This shot is a good example of one feature the 20D has over the 300D (unless you install one of the firmware hacks from Russia): mirror lockup. I wanted to stop down to f/9 for increased depth of field, which put the shutter speed at 1/13. Not exactly a very long exposure, but not short either (and certainly not short enough for a handheld shot) -- exactly the range where mirror slap is going to give you trouble, especially at 200mm. I refuse to buy the outrageously expensive cable release for the 20D (incompatible with the cheap one I used on the 300D), but I find the combination of mirror lockup and the timer works fine.
