Big Guy

Happy New Year to everyone. Here's Kai in our living room. This was one of the first shots I took with my new EF 24-105mm f/4L IS lens, which I have wanted ever since it was first announced in the summer. Following the recall of the first batch, plus a long wait here for new shipments here in Japan, I've finally managed to get one of my own.

This is really the lens I have wanted all along. I'll gladly trade one stop against the 24-70mm f/2.8L for the IS, slightly longer reach, and best of all, smaller size. Plus, in Tokyo at least, the 24-105 is about 35% cheaper than the 24-70 (although I know for people in the US, the 24-105 is actually more expensive; the 24-105 is one of the few lenses that compares favorably in price here).

So far, I have nothing but good things to say about the 24-105 and if I could use only one lens, this would be it.
